I wear a lot of hats…acupuncturist, herbalist, GAPS practitioner, gardener, Korean Natural Farmer, educator, public speaker, bookkeeper/marketer/office assistant for my husband’s busy irrigation business, and last but definitely not least, mommy. All of these keep me busy, most of them feed my soul, and they share a common thread: a reverence for and connection to nature.
I used to think acupuncture could save the world. Just get some needles and your pain will go away, your organs returned to balance. Then I realized that it’s not so simple. We live in a world polluted with environmental toxins, many of which we are exposed to on a daily basis through the foods we eat. Chronic and inflammatory diseases are at an all-time high, behavioral and mental disorders at unprecedented levels, and I won’t even mention the big C word…..
I believe our agricultural system and food choices to be at the heart of our problems. I feed my family foods grown without pesticides, a lot of which I grow myself. And I’m on a mission to encourage others to do the same.
